tranny removal

tranny removal

i wanna change the rear main seal of my car but i cant see the two top bolts of the tranny has anyone ever done this before i would like some hints
i drive a 95 3.4 camato automatic

it will be behind each head in abouts. you will probably have to stick your hand between the engine and firewall and go down. You should find them behind there.

i found the one on the driver side and im still trying to find a way to squeeze my hand in though the passenger side

put two of the lower bolts back in and let the crossmember down a few inches, it will tilt the engine/trans enough to get to the top bolts with extensions.

**I cheat- I have a 4 ft extension just for this **

ok and after i do that what can i use to lower the tranny i was thinkin of buying one of those motorcycle jack from autozone and return it after i finish using it

on just about any car its easer to use a long extenion and get it from behind the trans.

buying, using, and returning is not right.. and against the return policy.. I just used a jack and 2 pieces of wood for my t56.. i did it alone. it was not hard. It would be hard to put it back in that way tho.. I plan on connecting it to the engine and installing the whole things as one.
