Post Throttle Body Bipass

I have seen this item up for sale at Ebay and was wondering if it was worth the price. $6-$14 depending on shipping. I drive a 2002 stock V6 and was wanting to do a few mods. I was also looking under my hood and did not see anyway to do this mod and wondering if anyone has any ideas?

I could be wrong, but I don't think there is a TB bypass for the 3.8l engine, just for the 3.4 and the V8s(i think) also.

basically what a TB bypass does is it there are 2 hoses connected to your TB, they have engine coolant gong through them to help warm up the TB on cold starts, and prevent ice crystals form forming or something liek that. Either way, you basically dissconnect the 2 hoses and put on in its place or do what i do and cut the two lines and recconect them with a hose repari kit.

$13 not worth the money, took me 5 min. to do it with a razor, $2 hose repair kit form discount auto, and 2 small hose clamps that are like $0.50 a piece.

Maybe a little bit of a performance ggain on a hot day but not much.

Cool

If you have a 3.4 then you don't need anything but a screwdriver.Just attatch the TB tubes to themselves and attatch the radiator line to itself. You can do that using both stock hoses and clamps with no cutting. They are usually stuck on there though so you have to pull pretty hard to get them to come off! This mod helps by keeping the incoming air cooler.A 1996 (I think) LT1 TA picked up about 7 rwhp over stock on a dyno.Even if it's not a lot, every little bit helps!

Its a very easy mod to do... I did a little page on it a couple years ago. Its on my old CZ28.com site so don't pay attention to anything else on there

Hope that helps.
