stupid question, but it's for a jeep

i was wondering if the 3.4, the 3400, and the 3800 have the same bellhousing patterns and motor mount patterns/locations/brackets.

i'm wanting to put in a 3800sc into my cherokee and the thing has factory mounts for a 2.8, or a 3.4 (they're the same block, different internals) and i can get some motor mounts for a SBC or 4.3l vortec, but i dont want either of those, i want the sc engine.

any help would be appreciated, and keep the sarcasm low please...i'm knowledgable in the v-8 area, just not so much the v6 area.

thank you for your post.

i'm buying a total'd rear ended 2004 GTP this week for 500 bucks. i'm going to find out one way or another.

heck...for 500 bucks i'm sure i can sell just the leather interior for more than that....and the trans, HUD, steering wheel, console, guages, dash, wheels will sell for waaaay more than that.

I think they are similar, but if not, I am sure you could fab something up or get someone to do it. $500 isn't that much to risk. Would be a cool setup.

the trans is the same bolt pattern 3.4 and 3800 both are popular in fiero swaps. you could mod camaro motor mounts to work. Do or will you have the room for the throttle body pointing at the firewall? if not you will have to make something to bolt to the SC and turn 90 or more degrees. this might be of some help this guy is putting the SC on his 3800 Camaro. http://www.3800pro.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14000

oh the starter will be on the wrong side might have to come up with something there to. some inspiration my 3800 SC 4T65E-HD Fiero.

i think there'll be enough room in the firewall

if not, a sledge will work wonders. and i think that there will be a 90* to the passenger side and a snorkel going straight to the SC (with an inline air filter of course)
