If its aluminum helicoil the pan. If its steel tap it out for a slightly larger bolt

helicoil would proably leak a little, plus you would have to drill and tap to put a helicoil in anyway, but if you got the tools it can be drilled and tapped. Would be easiest to buy the drill & tap, tap wrench and new plug and drill & tap or just take the pan off and take it somewhere to be fixed.

If you don;t know how to tap a steel hole by hand read about it online first, it's not hard but there's a correct way to do it so you don't break the tap. 1. use oil and 2. turn in to cut 1/2 turn of thread at a time and back it out 2 turns to clear chips and clean tap. Take your time. Use both hands on tap wrench to put even force on each side. It shouldn't take much force to cut the threads.

Either use a pipe thread or I think the factory uses regular thread with a bolt with a gasket washer on the head.
