SLP Differential

I am really p'od because I royally spun out today in the bad weather today (and nearly crashed ), so I am going to get the differential. When I get the differential, for my 99 Firebird, what other parts do I need and about how much does it cost to get installed? thanks.

I bought mine and took it to a gear shop. He istalled it for like $150 and on the reciept the only other parts he listed was a shim package and some gear oil. Hope that helps, its a great mod.

It should cost absolutely nothing!Do it yourself in the driveway. All you need is common hand tools,a jack and jackstands, gear oil, and GM limited slip additive.Check out this link:

It's what I used to instal a posi in my '95.It was the first major mod I had done and it only took like 2 hours.Good luck.

Question

I have gone back and forth on the Posi thing. I really like the idea of posi... but Im still not sure my 3.4 has enough power to make it worth it...
I also hear that it can damage other things, drive shaft, etc...

any thoughts or facts that might help me make up my mind on this issue??

Nope,no damage.I could still spin 2nd gear in my 1995 3.4 A4 (with a Trans-go).The best thing about the posi is that it gets rid of a LOT of wheel spin and lets you just squat and GO while the other guy's still trying to get traction.Good luck.
