Silencer removal ?

My friend has a 2002 5spd v6 camaro and i was wondering how we remove the silencer, what it looks like and how much power it would give him. Is it the big bulky thing that hangs over both sides right after the intake? Any input would help thanks.

You want to remove the peice that the air box slides onto. Its sort of round. This part is held down with a plastic pin. Then remove the peice that the round part fits into that goes through to the other side. This is the worthless peice. When your done your airbox should just sit in the metal slot. I cut out the bottom of my air box as well. You can use a dremel or a utility knife for this.

Estimates on HP increase at best 0 HP gain. I just did the mod because it is out there.
