Shift Points

On a '02 with the Y87 package (Including the 3.42s, Auto) what would be the shift points?

Thanks

check the owners manual, it should tell you in there where to shift for the most economical gas mileage. Where you want to shift is all up to you.

Ok a couple things. There is no shift out of 4th is because there is no 5th gear. Secondly, I assume the guy that created this thread wants to know where the car shifts at WOT. The stock shift points at WOT are much higher than the numbers you posted.

What I know is that we have a rev limiter that is actually set at 5900 rpm (even though it is supposed to be 6) and shifts need to occur a minimum of 100 rpm below the limiter to avoid hitting it in the shifts. Our shift points are probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 58-5900 rpm

Final thought: the shift points are technically based on mph not engine rpm, meaning that the car shifts whenever it hits a certain speed. This is obviously smarter than writing the software to shift at preset rpm because it doesn't work properly if you change rear end gears.

Thanks for the replies, I don't mean the shifting points at WOT, but thanks! I just meant going down the road.
I may be pushing it here, but does anyone know at what points it shifts down, from WOT?

Thanks

Shift pionts at part-throttle are partly determined by throttle position, partly by how the ECM senses you are driving on the newer cars.

Ok, then I will have to say "My bad"

As for WOT... I don't think anybody ahs any reliable data on that. If you have autotap, you could make some runs at full throttle, and check to see what the highest rpm recorded for each gear is. You'd have to do this a few times since autotap doesn't log fast enough to cath every single RPM.
