Ses light when I brake?

For the past month or so I could be driving somewhere and my ses light will come on then reset sometimes when I brake, if not it will reset once I turn off the ignition. Most of the time the light is tripped while braking and will come off while braking usually going around 60mph. Any idea what could cause this? Faulty sensor maybe being knocked around? Also I have been hearing some type of noise under the hood kinda like a ticking type noise when I acclerate, not sure if its related, Please help! By the way its a 94 3.4L camaro.

No I don't, also I have my oil pressure kinda high around 60mph its right under the needle is almost on the 80. It seems to fluctuate a lot while driving, not sure if this is related. thanks for any help you can give.

My vote goes for the EGR valve. My SES has been doing that exact same thing for over a year with no other problems. The only reason i havent replaced it is because they are like 250 bucks.

Only way to know for sure is to get the PCM read and find out what codes are there.

Anything else is like rolling dice.....

I would first go with the EGR. Hopefully this is not your case, but a freind of mine with his lumina had an issure where something in the trans went wrong, and it would lock so hard that the clutches in the trans would in effect try to stop the enigne. A few times the engine stalled, other times it just tried to stall it, and the SES light ("check enigne" on the lumina) came on as the engine struggled to over power what ever was stopping it up.

Most likely this is NOT your problem, I just thought i would put it out there just in case. I wish i could remeber what the actual problem was refered to, but i'm really not a trans expert.

Hey our '96 v6 3800 has been doing the same thing for a while. Runs fine but the ses light comes on usually when driving at a steady speed for a while. I had it check at our local Auto Zone, they test it for free and tell you the codes (I think mainly the obd2). My problem was the EGR valve, dealer wants $200.00
and Auto Zone wants $100.00. Still havn't gotten around to replacing it yet, as I said earlier the car runs fine.
Hope this helps,
David

Autozone scans codes at no charge.

Reread his post. He said they scanned for free. They wanted 100 bucks for an EGR (that seems really cheap).
