SES light

I recently descreened the MAF. Now my SES light is on. I think it is becuase of the descreening...should I go get it checked out? I just don't want that dumb light in my face while I am driving. Thanks!

Yup.....its from the MAF sensor being descreened, unless you plug it back in

What kind of performance gains do you get by descreening the MAF? Is it hard to do?

On the SES...mine stays on so I thought about just taking out the bulb for it

Angry WTF

WTF, how can descreening the MAF trip the SES light? That's jacked. Did it turn on right when you drove off, or did it take a while?

Does the screen complete a check circuit or something?
In that case, CmdrViper, we can just rig up something.

I'll ask around....

Sorry dude.

......

It could be that the engine was running lean after the descreening before the engine adjusted, in which case the SES could turn on.

I don't know if it clears itself. I know Autozone can scan and clear codes for free...
