My fiance has a 96 Firebird and her stupid "Security" light won't go off. Usually we don't care but she's trying to trade her car in for a Trans Am and we don't want to take it in looking like that. Anyone know how to get rid of it?

 

maybe pulling a fuse or going to autozone and having them scan your computer for codes would help....even opening the dash and pulling the bulb would work

 

I have the same problem with my car. My security light won't go off. I brought it to a chevy dealership and they looked at it for 2 hours but couldnt' find it. They said it could be a loose wire somewhere. They also said they could try and fix it but it could take 5 - 6 hours or more for them to find the problem, and they charge $78 an hour so i said to not bother. I just have to drive around with the security light on. If you get yours to shut off, let me know. They also said that pulling a fuse wouldn't be good, because the fuse is for multiple things on the car.

 

Electrical tape. Or else do the bypass, to disable the system.
