replacing the engine, is it worth it?

I need a new engine and I got an offer on a 3.8 from a 95 for 600$, and I was wondering if that would fit in my 97, since most 95s had the 3.4s. Also, does 600 sound like a good price for a 3.8 with 38,000 on it? Do you guys know how much it would cost to put the engine in and how much do you think shipping would be from colorado to cali? What are your guys input on what I should do with a 97 RS with a trashed motor, sell it w/o motor, sell it for parts, or replace engine and then sell it (I want a new car anyways). Any help would be great, thanks.

$600 is good for an engine like that, I would jump on it if I were you.
In - out engine swaps go from $200-$600.
