rebuilding the v6

My cousin said he can just rebuild my engine after it croaks. I would like to know if that would be a good idea to rebuild the engine and after it is rebuilt about how many miles would it last?

I guess technically it should be concidered close to a new engine, depending what u had, it could get anouther 100K miles out of it, Honestly the body would croak first, or something else would break.

wut would go wrong...

my body is pretty sturdy but my engine is starting to have smoke come out of the exhaust so i dunno if it is starting to go bad is just white smoke not blue. But the engine right now has 116,000 miles on it right now. So if my cousin rebuilds it it would be able to handle another 100k? What else do u think would go wrong?

hell i got 180,00 miles on mine and the only thing wrong w/ it is that the clutch went out. other than that the engine pulls strong and works great stilll.

I had a 92 toyota tercel before my camaro and it had bad valve stem seals (from sitting and bad from the factory). Someone before me ran it low on oil. The thing puffed a cloud of smoke, and drank lots of oil. It had 81,000 miles. So much for toyota craftsmanship. Anyway, the 3.4 in the camaro seems to be a strong, dependable engine. A rebuild would fix the smoke, but I've always been told a remanufactured engine will never be as good as the original. Still, I'd say you could get at least another 100k out of the 3.4 on a good rebuild. But that's just my opinion.
