Rear wheel bearing -- can I remove the axle myself?
1995 Camaro V6 3.4L
I know I need a bearing 'puller' to get my rear wheel bearing off of my axle, but can I pull the right axle out w/out removing the bearing, or does the bearing block the axle from being pulled out by hand? I'd like to be able to just do this part myself if possible and then take it to a shop and have them pull and put on a new bearing. What's a typical cost to get one pressed on?
Any tips/cautions when doing this procedure myself?
Oh, and what size is the differential pinion shaft bolt? 7.5mm?
Thanks!
