The LS1 lid and the V6 lid are totally different. On the V6 the air goes out at the top to the right hand side. On the LS1 it goes out at the top in the center. What I mean by going out is when the air leaves the lid and goes to the throttle body. The hoods on the LS1 and v6 are the same.

I think what he means is he wants to buy a ram air hood and use a LS1 air intake lid. The main question then is will the LS1 air intake lid fit on a V6 air intake.

I just put the V6 stock air lid from the 98 Camaro on my 99 SS and it fits the tabs in the back line up and everything. TRANSLATION: you CAN get a ram air hood and LS1 intake on your car.
