No real time table on them...when they go out, they go out.
Generally though, 2-3 years. Really depends though. My last one lasted four years while my friend's cat went through one in a little more than a year.

Thats what I thought happened when I got my SES light on, turned out the 5th cylendar was misfiring due to the 1st coil being fried.
I drove a 95 V6 Mustang for alittle over a year with bad 02 sensors and the Check Engine light on. Not very fun though when you need some quick accelleration, simply doesn't exist. Eventually though if you don't replace em and they're bad, your car will get to the point where it simply won't crank, the Mustang was almost driven to that point but I gave that P.O.S away...
