oilconsumption

Hi
Have a big probleme

the oilconsumption of my 99er camaro 3,8 ist very high.
And i d'ont find anything were oil is going,just the consumption is high.
got now 70000miles an it takes every 1000miles one L
Can anyone help me

No, I'm pretty sure he shouldn't be adding very much oil every 1,000 miles.

For older cars, that used to be a common practice. For modern cars, they should use minimal amounts of oil.

My '96 has 150k+ and uses less than one quart on 7k oil changes.

Are you sure it's not a Quart rarther then a Litre? a Litre is a coke bottle size-

My 98 with 53,000 burns some sometimes, maybe as much as 1/2 a quart between 3,000 mi changes, sometimes it doesnt!

Have you ever noticed a puff of smoke out of the exhaust pipes during startup? Mine has sometimes if it's sat for a week or so.
