Oil and Water

Hey all,

Just wanted to get some input, If you haven't read my prior post about my 4.3 vortec, I am replacing a blown head gasket(s). My question for this thread is how can i flush all of the Mustard oill out of the block? I am considering Diesel fuel, but will this hurt the bearings. I cant imagine that it will hurt it any more than water in the oil.

Please, any input that you can give would help!

Stryker!!!

Re: Oil and Water

My advice, & what i have done, is that i would first drain the mustard oil and get a new filter and oil and a can of seafoam, put the whole thing in and run it till its good and warm (usually 20 min i take the cars around the block once or twice) and do another oil change and smile as all the mustard pours out (make shure to drain it when its still hot)

Don

p.s. Disel works but it washes the oil film out between the bearings and we all know thats not good.

Re: Oil and Water

I was kinda scared of that with diesel fuel. So SeaFoam? Where can I get that? Is that the name brand? And do you just put that in like a regular quart of oil? I figure that I will have to do about 2-3 oil changes within the first 3 days, as well as a couple good radiator flushes. The guy I had to repo the truck from used some "Head Gasket Sealer" and the crap is everywhere. Thanks for your help.

Re: Oil and Water

Bad thing is that I think I may need all the luck i can get. I know without a shadow of doubt that I can put the motor back together without problem. It is all the damn wires that go with it, I would love to just throw a carb on this thing and burn the Fuel Injection. I guess the plugs only fit in one hole huh? I hope anyway! Thanks for all the help guys!
