Oil Rings OR Piston Seal Issue PLEASE HELP "Low Oil" Light
Hi,
I started off with no problems with my V6 2002 Camaro. About a month and a half ago the "low oil" light came on and I refilled the oil back to the recommended level. I was driving about a 3 weeks ago and the same light came on and I pulled over immediately and put some oil in the car again, well just last week again the same thing happened. I brought the car to PepBoys and they said that there is not leak so it is internal. The guy thought that it was the oild rings or a piston seal issue. Does anyone know how extensive this is? Or how much it will cost to fix? ANY INFOR ON THIS IS GREATLY APPREICATED!!!
this is the ONLY issue I have ever had with this car and I REALLY want to fix this ASAP!
Thanks!

well there's only 2 places it can go, either leak out onto the ground or it's burning in the engine, since your problem has intensified so quickly I would think it would be leaky out rather than burning, besides if it was burning that fast you would probably notice that and you could see smoke or smell the oil in the exhaust.
First check to make sure the oil filter is tight, run you finger under the filter to see if it is leaking out there.
If nothing Get a flashlight and look for other leaks under the hood and under the engine, it may be possible that the oil oil is only leaking when the engine is running under higher pressure.
If you find nothing then take it to a mechanic.
