is there any noticed performance change in your car nowdays to the last few years you've been driving it, also what mileage? if the car is lower mileage (relatviley speaking i.e. not pusining 220K) and performance seems unchanged I'd think that the problem may actually be the sensor itself being bad and it is having problems reading correctly when the oil is hot...

if I remember right that is an easy sensor to get to so easy fix (or I am thinking of the location on the 3.8) and should be a reasonably priced part; so I'd start by draining the oil out and making sure it is not contaminated with anything then if I changed anything I’d start with swapping the sensor… but that is just my 0.2 and it could be a lot of other things

Ive owned the car for about five years now boutght it w/ 98,000 currently has 181,000. It has lost sum power and it does have a lil bit of a knock but i figured thats normal... Ive heard most people say the knock is piston slap, and the oil pressue problem is do to the bearings looseing up?? But Im thinking more along your lines a sensor...

yeah the sensor should be an inexpensive and easy fix.. I'd start with that and maybee it will fix it.. also anotehr easy trick is maybee try syntetic oil (if you don't already) as that may help on higher milage enginges???

lets hope it's just the sensor
