Question Is this normal

Well im new to camaros and dont know much about them so i have a question. Well when i park the car in a parking lot or drive way etc... and not turn off the engine but put the car in park or starting the car up the rpm needle kinda revs by itself it doenst go really high or anything but it goes between 1-1.5k rpm(it decreses gradually exp: 1.5k to 1.4 to 1.3 you get the point until it goes down to 1k and it stops) and i wasnt sure was this normal and if its not what is the problem that is causing this. Also it doesnt do it the whole time it just does it a few times and then it will stop. Please help me out and any help is greatly apperciated.

My 98 used to do that sometimes on start ups, it might still. Unfortanetly I forgot what caused it. Whatever it was, it was nothing major.

Update on the problem

Well i found out what was causing the idle problem. It happens whenever i have the a/c on. So i just want to know what is causing this idle problem and can i fix it myself and what would i need if i fixed it myself or would i just be better off taking it to the dealer since im new to the camaro.

a good guess would be that turning on the AC draws power from the electrical system so the computer kicks the idle up to keep the system full charged. I would think that after driving a bit the engines idle wouldnt jump so much. You would be suprised at how many amps are needed to keep the AC, Cooling fans and electrical engine management crap pulls on a car. I personally wouldn't worry about it unless it happens consistantly with the AC on instead of being more of a "Catch Up" problem.
