Post New here just sayin hi! And have a few questions,

Hey everyone I'm new here just got a 95 3.4 Camero convert. this weekend and I had a few questions. 1. Who makes intakes for my model car I've seen the K&N one and the SLP one but are there any others to consider? 2. Whats a good exhaust with a good deep (non-rice) sound to it. I have the loud mouth exhaust on my GP and I love the sound. Does SLP make exhaust for V-6 Camaros? Well those are my questions. I'll thanbk you in advance for your replys.

I don't know a lot about the 93-97 Camaro intake. A lot of the 3.4l owners recommend the flows on the 3.4 and I recommend dynomax on a 3.8l, there is a lot of opinions about exhaust, overall flows are said to sound good on a 3.4l. I don't know if SLP makes exhaust systems for the V6 but some people have a SS exhaust put on there V6. In case you didn't know: SLP makes the SS exhaust.

Welcome to the board I think your screen name is the greatest.

In regards to exhaust, I've been very happy with my 3" Edelbrock, it makes a great sound. However, doing it again, I probably would've gotten a 2.5" instead just to preserve some low end torque.

Hey I'm new too...Wierd? I like my exhaust and air intake, good gains from both.Very satisfied and a lifetime waranty. But this is a 3.8,you have a 3.4 and I never evaluated any of the mods on it sooo...Hello welcome (I hope I am too.)
Paladin is absolutely correct about the torque.Save the 3" for when you supercharge J/k but true.Sounds like Mustangeater has been BITEN,I hate it when that happens.

Thumbs up

Welcome, and get the 3" you don't 'lose" torque,it just moves around a little. You actually gain torque higher in the RPM band.A 3" cat-back on a V6 gets about a 12hp/14lb-ft gain to the rear wheels. And basically any intake made for the same year Z28 will fit your car.The intakes are almost exactly the same.Good luck.

I know that I don't actually lose torque, it just moves higher on the rev band.

Basically, before I got the exhaust, I only had to go to 2500 or 2600 RPM to keep up with traffic from a stoplight. Now, it's closer to 3000 RPM.

But it's quite a ride from there up.

Welcome!

Either one of the two intakes that you mentioned will work fine for your car. I always say get which ever one you can find cheaper or whichever one appeals to you more.

On the exhaust part...find some Camaros with aftermarket exhausts and listen to them.

Personally, I like SLP. I don't really have to deal with they're CS. I just call up, tell them what I want and wait for it.
Good products at really good prices. I just don't like UPS.

I have two friends who had 3" catbacks installed. One swore he lost some on the bottom end and the other said he didn't feel a difference. The one that felt he lost some installed some 3.42s...much better. So thats always an option.

Just came in to welcome you to the board, so welcome.

Also, you can do a search here on this site that will almost always turn up some kind of result...just click search in the upper right hand corner. This is a hot topic in here, so you should be able to find out lots of info about the different exhausts, intake, and other basic mods.

Once again, welcome to your new favorite website.

I have the B&B Tri-Flo catback. It sounds the best of any on the 3.4 (no chainsaw), and has the nice quad tips, and its stainless, but damn you pay for it all....amzaing what we do for our cars

As for intake, I made my own, K&N cone filter, and a couple visits to Home Depot or Lowe's (your choice), costs about 60-70 bucks.

Lastly, WELCOME!!!!!

intake wise, it pretty much been said.

exhaust wise, well everyone has differant tastes. some say V6's with flows sound rice, others say Dynomax on v6's sound rice. just take your time and listen to peoples exhaust. if you would like there a sound clip of a 2.5 dynomax cat back on my CAMARO site in my sig.

welcome and drive it like you stole it!

a 3" system will move your torque curve up 1000RPM, so that "UMP!" feeling is kinda lost. you might gain torque but its high enough that you lose that american engine low grunt. a 2.5" mandel bend system is what most compaies use for the v6 performance exhuast. it holds your torque curve some what where it is, but doesnt give you the same horsepower as a 3" system, but the truth is do you want to sacrafice that "ump" feeling for 2hp?

Thanks everyone for your reply's. With my other car (Grand Prix) I'm not used to having so many brands to chose from. For the GP there like 2 or 3 brands with aftermarket parts. But now this will be one of my favorite sites. Besides gp-owners.com. HEHEHE Have fun guys. Also are there any other websites that have aftermarket parts for maro's. I've seen RK sport but there prices make my eye ***** bleed.
