New Engine

i prolly should have searched this...but i'm rather busy today...but i have a 95 maro with a 3.4L v6...my mom being the idiot she is ran the engine for 30k miles without changing the oil and its about to throw a rod...well we've salvaged the engine but it isn't going to last very long...so i'm wandering if i can jsut drop in a 3.8L v6...if so...which year...do i need bigger injectors? what about anything else? can i use the same chip?

Re: New Engine

If you're going to put a new engine in, you might as well put an LT1 in there. I put an LT1 into my car. Probably wouldn't be much more than just putting another V6 in there.

Re: New Engine

an lt1 would need a new tranny...new radiator...new injectors...new a lot more stuff....if i can jsut get a 3.8 and drop it in...with only having to buy a few things...then it'd be alot cheaper then a lt1...also if i was going to put an lt1 in there...i'd put a 400...well because my dad has a block and heads for one already...

Re: New Engine

Youd never be able to fit a conventional distributor type engine such as that 400 into an f-body, the trouble would not be worth it. But u can go to a salvage yard or look on the boards and buy a complete motor with everything including accessories for as cheap as $1200 or so. As far as tranny i dont see why u couldnt just use your old 4l60E, thats what u have right?? I may be wrong but u should be able to use it. If u decided to do it and completed it you would be so glad u did trust me.
