My camaro is not going past 3000 R.P.M...HELP PLEASE!

This just happened to me about two hours ago...anyways...I had just started to drive away from my house. Next thing you know, I noticed my car is not accelerating as it usually would do. Lets just say my old car (a 1990 Nissan Sentra) probably could have beat me. That's how slow the acceleration. Another thing is that my car is not going past 3000 R.P.M! My engine sounds fine...i had just enough gas in my car to get to the local gas station. I have some suspicion that it's my M.A.F sensor. Reason why I say that is because same thing happened to my bro's car. Since we drive different cars, I didn't want to totally assume it is my MAF. One more thing, there's something on my dash that lighted up. It says Reduced Engine Power. Obviously it was that. Someone please help me. I'm going to take it to Autozone tomorrow crawling at a slow rate to diagnose it. Just wondering if anyone else ran into the same thing I did. PLEASE HELP! You can e-mail me at gbrillo619@yahoo.com or just leave some kind of message on here. I'm new to this forum thing. Thanks a whole lot! I need to have my baby(camaro) back in shape!

It sounds like it's running in a Limp Home mode. All you can do is put a scanner on it to see what could be the problem. You can double check the MAF plug and even pull off the MAF and inspect it to see if any trash got inside. Good luck.

I've got the same problem, the dealer told me I need a new throttle body.

Does anyone know if this one would work?

Well, since the MAF is incorporated into the TB, that could be the problem. If the MAF is bad it would cause the computer to go into a limp mode. Let us know what you find out.

To my knowledge, nobody makes throttle bodies for the 3800.
