What mods did you have when you ran that 15? What gears do you have?

I hit a 15.913 once with these mods

-homemade air intake
-no i-pipe, no muffler, jsut a very very very clogged CAT.
-Accel 8mm universal wires
-splitfire plugs

stock 3.23s

and my car tuned up.

I hit consitent 15s once I put in the 3.42s, lsd, and 1 piece driveshaft.

the 15.696, was with all that and a 1le tranny mount and asp crank pulley, no alt pulley.

I know have gotten rid of my cat(too clogged) the car actually got slower further up in the RPMS, and startred boggin.

I took CAT off and put on a $15 "thrush" muffler on my Y-pipe.

I run high 15s consistently, best time this month has been a 15.807. once this wonderful hot humid weather goes away this summer and we get the 40-50 degree track weathers maybe I will pull something better then a 15.696, maybe a 15.64999999

Actually auto's are quicker. They usually have lower ET's.Manuals are faster and they usually have higher MPH.If you can afford it get a Torque Converter. That mod alone is worth .3-.5 in the 1/4 mile.Good luck.
Kevin

Edit:Also,if you can't afford a TC then get some sticky tires. Also grab a posi for the rear if you don't have one already.Traction will drop those 60' times and lower the ET's.

Most important is the car is running good.

torque converter will help ya.

I launch at nearly 4k on crappy street tires but I do not have much of a suspension upgrad in the rear.

2.078 60' is my best.

Unfortunately a TC is about $600-$800 for a decent one.You may find one used somewhere for cheaper. As far as where to get one,try some of the vendors on this site like TByrne or Thunderracing.Search for some posts that Magnus has made.He ran mid 14's with bolts-ons and a TC on his 1996 V6.The cost is expensive I know, but you get the same gain in the 1/4 as with a 75Hp shot of nitrous and it's there all the time.It doesn't really give the car more power but it sure does let the car use a lot more of the power it does have.

maybe thats the trick with our v6s?

Most my money has gone inot transfering the power of my car to the ground more efficiently.

My mods I expect to get within the next year or two are 3.42's , Stage 2 jet chip , Torque converter ,Intake manifold , underdrive pullies ,
and maybe within the second year ill put a new cam. I should definetly be faster with all these mods. I would also when I get older like to custom my own turbo like Tiago did.

Well my car is in the shop today getting headers ,exhaust , CAI , and 160 degree thermostat. And the guy told me that my car should be a dog off the line becuase of the compression . He told me if I wanted my car to be faster off the line to get some better gears. Should 3.42 gears be right for my car. Would I have good power off the line and top end??
