does anyone know what it would cost to put the limited slip differential on a '96 firebird? i'm guessing i'd have to do it through the dealership, but i dunno if it's something i could get done somewhere else for cheaper.

Just an idea.. but have you thought about maybe just getting a complete rearend from a Z28 or SS? I know there are some places that will sell them used for like 300 or 400 and they should bolt right up. That way you get LSD and possibly 3.42 gears. Just a thought..
