i agree that this kid is a retard!!!! i know for sure a an lt1 and an ls1 can walk a monte easily only feathering the throttle, but a while back i raced an lt1 at the track and i took him up to 2nd gear. he shifted into 3rd and it was over. he ran a 14.4 and i ran a 15.7@89. i was surprised that i kept up for that long. as for a battle of the 3.8's i strongly beleive its all about the drivers. just my 2 cents.

i know how you feel. i had a guy in a 00 civic si that swore up and down that he was running a 14.0 flat in the quarter. i caught him out cruising the strip and asked him to run me and he said his bottle wasnt filled. so he tried me in second gear and i ripped him. well i caught him about 3 days later and we went from every speed possible and the closest he got was 1/2 a car and he was spraying 85 shot. when he asked me what i got. i told him just slp cold air kit and camgears. he told me i was lying because he was stomping ss camaro's at home.

 

Great Kill as much as I like the monte's they're only the all looks no go cars. I'm glad u put the punk in his place now do it again just in case he's still in denial lol.

 

Ive raced a grand am GT and lost by about 1/2 lenght, they are very quick cars BTW both of our cars are in great shape low miles, if ihad diffrent gears i prob woulda had him

 

good kill. unbelievable that the kid would think that his monte could take an SS camaro. o well, at least u handed him his a$$. now the fun part though, listen to the stories he starts throwing around, ive had a few of those deals go down after a win. my favorite one of all time was when i whipped a fellow co-worker's new civic with my sunfire gt a year ago. he said the he "missed a shift" and i pointed out to him that his car was an automatic!!!!!

 

I raced a 3000 GT VR4 many times and would always take it at the top end. I talked with the guy at the end to make sure we had an agreement that he beat me off the line but I had won the race. This guy even had a friend eyewitness it. The next day in my first period class him and his friend are going around saying he beat me. I argued and then the owner the VR4 said "see thats why I had him eyewitness it" refering to his friend. It made me pretty angry becuase the race was to see who has the fastest car at school.
