when i sit there and run my car from a 0-80 it seems like after 40 or so ours car accel. slowly.... like off the line my car is good.... 2 weeks ago i lost to a iroc 305 and beat him off the line and lost by a car by 80 mph... and i beat a 92 305 im not lying either... but like after the first few gears thats where i loose all my races...

 

its not just you. lol its everybody that lacks those 2 extra cylinders.

 

v-6's lack that upper end power that bigger motors have....ive lost to many cars due to that...i will rape them off the line then they will go right back by me...

 

My car is alittle diffrent from yours I guess , becuase my car is fast as hell off the line and my 0-60 is probly in like about 7 seconds but once my car passes 60 mph then it starts going slowly and it sucks but so far it hasnt hurt me too bad. Oh and I also have more engine mods done then you so there you go.

 

I haven't had that much of a problem playing with Z's. I can get about a car and a half on them through 3rd gear, then once it's full out they slowly creep up on me. I raced a friend that has a 98 Z28 on the freeway....extremely STUPID, I don't recommend it. Anyway, once we were around 110-115 he hit 6th and slowly walked away. The money that I've dumped into my car has paid off many times for bragging rights. Mind you, if it's a modded Z28, I really don't stand a chance, but if it's close to stock I'm fair game. You can especially get that edge if you're driving a stick and they're in an auto...I can beat Mustangs to death all day long though. That's NEVER been a problem.

 

yea thanks for the info i hate getting cars off the line... and looking like im gonna beat em, but then they edge me out on the top end..... the weird thing is i have raced like 3 other 3.4 camaro.... one i raped the whole way.... and the other 2 i rape off the line and thrn by 80 they have caught up, so that means they are pulling harder then me right??? how do i fix this for my car....

 

Umm, an LS1 is gonna do more then just slowly walk away from you unless you're runnin with a blower or somethin. I got a decently fast V6, and LS1's simply tear away from me. If you do happen to take one off the line, it's only due to the fact that the car has a ****ty driver behind the wheel.

 

That is a very good point, but when the other guy is driving an auto and he DEFINATELY knows you want to race...how can you screw that up? I can understand if the "other" guy doesn't even know you're trying to race him, but come on...How can you not know how to drive an auto?? Simply put your foot into it. My car has quite a few mods as well...meaning far from stock. You've got to "pay" to play..

 

Running a 14.3, Your still not going to stay with a decent LT1 or a stock LS1. Especially 80mph +

 

its prolly just the power curve not working well with the gearing

not to mention the lack of power lol

I am not sure how your car is...

But with mine, and i am a quicker 3.4L, I usually tear out of the hole pretty fast I do hve 3.42s and a 5-speed, and like said I die out on power, I been working on ways to keep power that high... but to be honest I have3 won alot of races at the track. launching out of the hole, having a perfect run but by the last 110 feet or so the guy I am racing is pulling on me but I already have too much a lead and the finish line comes up.

have you run a 1/4 mile yet? if so what was your mph at the end of the 1/4.

yep its still for sale... and on gtech with the first intake and my exhaust i got like a 16.8 at 83 mph if i remember right....
