Just installed my Flowmaster Catback #17356
Here is my review of my Flowmaster #17356 for 93-95 Camaro/Firebird 3.4L V6:
When my catback finally got here on Friday, all I could think of was "Thank God Summit has free shipping". The box it came in was bigger than my coffee table and weighed almost 60 pounds! That would have cost me a fortune.
Upon opening my gargantuan box, the parts were well packaged and were of very good quality - the muffler itself is very solid and HEAVY.
Included in the box (other than the pipes and muffler) were 4 pipe clamps, drivers side hanger hardware, new bolts for the catalytic converter, detailed vehicle specific instructions and a nice assortment of Flowmaster stickers (which went IMMEDIATELY in the trash...I'm not much of a sticker guy.)
I dismembered my old exhaust per the instructions and began to assemble my new catback. The instructions are overall pretty good, but a few parts could use some work. It says to NEGOTIATE the over axle pipe into place. Well after NEGOTIATING for about an hour, I finally got it.
Overall assembly isn't too terribly tough, but it took me about 4 hours from start to finish.
The clamps that were provided were nice, but I would strongly suggest that before using them, make a run to the hardware store and get some nice thick washers to put on between the clamp and the nut. And be sure you have a torque wrench with you cause you REALLY gotta reef on the puppies to get the pipes tight.
One real complaint that I have is that once I got everything assembled, adjusted and clamped into place, I noticed that the passenger side tailpipe is about an inch and a half longer than the drivers tailpipe. So one sticks out a little farther than the other. I will be calling Flowmaster on this tomorrow to correct this issue.
OK, on to the sound. I LIKE it. Not too aggressive, but definately has a good rumble to it. No one with any intelligence will mistake it for a V8, but it's nice.
From cruising to hard acceleration up to redline the tone remains surprisingly smooth, no rice here.
I noticed a definate SOTP improvement in accelerating from a stop, the car pulls much harder. Mid range acceleration is also noticably better.
All in all, apart from the tailpipe thing, this is a very good investment at $264.64 and free shipping. Hats off to Flowmaster and Summit.
**BTW, this catback DOES NOT have a resonator in line with the I-pipe.

you were supposed to loose fit the pipes,and check for the correct alignment before tightening...aligning the pipes to the sides of car and pipes protrustion before tightening anything.They'll tell ya probably.You can fix it just loosen the clamps make adjustments retighten.Coarse it sounds like you tightened them good pipes are prob gooved,and hope the clamps were of good quality sometimes they dont like to come back off.
i've got the flowmaster kit and have the same problem. my passenger tip is about 1/2" longer, also my muffler doen't sit level so i just painted it black. I even tried to put the sticker undr hood on the plastic ad it only lasted a week. but it does sound pretty good.
Are the outlets adjacent from each other on these flowmaster systems.Or offset as in the inlet lines up w/ one of the adjacent outlet,the other one to the front or rear of inlet. If the outlets are off set,the passenger side (which is inlet side)could be piveted to shorten that side. Like whosbetters his he mentioned is not level and has less protrusion on that side then you.Find out from Flowmaster if it is supposed to sit level or tipped down slightly. On my two system installs I used the muff pivit to fine tune the pipe lengths,along with the insertion depth of the cross over pipe over diff to the "I"pipe effects it also...all on pass. side

Like I said IT must be shotty as in **** poor
i dont know what you guys did wrong but my pipes align properly.. my budyd has the exact same one as me and his align properly too (his pipes have flowmaster punshed into the stainless steel tips, mine doesnt have that)
guess you screwed up with the install or something, better re-fit the alignment on those
