Just installed my Dynomax muffler

I just got my Dynomax Super Turbo muffler installed today, and I must say, I was amazed. For a V6, it dont sound bad at all. No popping or anything of that nature, just a mellow rumble, nothing major, like a Z28, but you get the idea. At high RPMs, it dont sound bad either, unlike the flowmaster. I have 3 1/2" chrome tips, so that probably helps with the sound. I also used the stock piping, so it could sound better with a complete catback, but im too cheap. It sounds best when it has a load on it (in gear driving) but doesnt sound bad just sitting and reving it up either. The "rumble" can be heard all the way up to about 3400 RPMs, then it kinda goes to a higher sound (I cant really describe it, but it doesent sound bad) My biggest concern was the sound at high RPMs, and this muffler definetly takes care of that. So yeah, thats my .02 worth. Definetly a great muffler for the 3.8.

I was told that if I did a complete catback, and put a high flow cat on there, it would sound signifigantly better, but not TOO much. It would help with the tone, and thats pretty much it. Thanks to everyone who answered all my questions!

I havent really been able to tell, because it has been raining here and the roads are wet, so I havent been able to give it a lot of gas from a dead stop. So far I havent noticed anything, but I havent driven it hard yet either.

I am sure there was a hp gain. I didn't actually feel the gain though when I added a dynomax. I got the dynomax just for the sound.

Yeah, I got it for the sound too. I wasnt too worried about horsepower, because its a V6...you can only get so much out of it. But I would guess it has a HP gain. Im working on getting a sound clip, just be patient
