Just installed LT1 one piece.

I just got done replacing the 2-piece DS for a LT1 1-piece. There is not that noticeable of a diffference until the car is in the upper RPM range though. Weight difference is very obvious. Only thing I'm questioning is there is a little more gear noise in back. Any comments on that?

Yup...you will be getting more noise than with the two piece.

When I first put on the one piece...I said "WTF?"

You don't feel it until you get into the higher RPMs as you said...I think it is worth it though. If you can pick the part up cheap, have a few hours to kill...might as well.

Well, I'm glad that I got that 2-piece junk out of there. 1st gear there really is no difference but in 2nd, and so on there is in the top RPM's. The hardest part about this was jacking the car, otherwise it took me only about a 1/2 hour. Well worth it for $30.

If you have a V6, get a hold of your V8 friends, because all V6's should have a one piece!!!

Plain and simple the one piece wieghs less. About 1/2 as heavy as a 2 piece. The lighter DS allows the ENGINE to accelerate faster and easier. Does not make power, but frees up power that is already there. Works the same way as underdrive pullies do. So not even will car be quicker, but better gas mileage as well. Same thing would happen if you put lighter wheel on your car.

One piece

Sure anywhere that has used f-body parts. I got mine form speed automotive for $25, shipping was free since it came with my rearend.

Anyways I fecked up my 2 piece jsut runing it hard, its a simple and worthwhile mod. Taking the stock 2 piece is a bit of a pain though.

all 4th gen d/s will work

the rearend from a Z (auto will have a 2.73 gear, and a 6 speed will have a 3.42) will work in a V6.. cars equipped with TCS (traction controll system?) will fit but due to the differences in the ABS system the rear ABS will not work properly, unless you replace the reloctur wheel
