Unhappy

How come your car ran 17's in the 1/4 mile? Are you a bad driver ? Is there a problem with your car? I raced my friends 2002 automatic cougar V6 (stock) on the highway, and pulled on him really slowly, but I won. They say the cougar v6 runs 16 sec flat in the 1/4 mile, I guess this means im in the 15's......

Somethings got to be wrong with your car. With all thoes mods you have done to it, it should be running faster than that.

THe 60's are pretty bad, considered maybe somehting is wrong with your torque converter, or tranny?

guy you forget he is at a little bit of an altitude too.

I dunno........but the driver is NOT the problem

It seems to run fine........but I have come to the conclusion that its just a really fast LOOKING cruiser......

Just updated the sig too ....lol....(hey no point being mad...gotta laugh at it)

The 60fts suck......I know. The truck has had 2.0-2.1 60ft.

On one of the many runs.....I said hell with it....put it into manual 1st.........and ran the full 1/4 mile........still upshifted every step including OD. Same times.

One time I manual shifted it.......same thing,

It runs to 5K rpm and shifts.......every gear.

Lets put it this way...........you could sit back and read the sunday funnies or cut coupons waiting for it get through with the 1/4 mile.

As for tranny.....I dunno. It stalls at about 2200rpm, and had one rebuild by GM under warranty at about 25K miles.

Its as if like no matter what I added since from 4 years ago........its the exact same.......EXACT same numbers.

I even put about 3 gallons of 91 octane in it, to mix with about 3 gallons of 87 in tank, just in case the Knock sensor was taking out timing.......no gain.

It has the likings to downshifting on every little blip of the throttle.......gutless I guess.

The car has always run like this. Its not as if like....WOW....why is it so slow all of the sudden, the car has always felt this way.

No SES lights.........get 20-22 mpg on a 90% hwy driving. Idles fine, vacuum is good, just turned 64,500 miles tonight.

Any ideas on where to go from here.......just shoot. But please.....OH PLEASE, don't tell me to swap in a LT1 or to light it on fire........cause those are not a posibility.........and also because I have already thought of both of them

On saturday........I had a wide open shot of road.....so figured.....what the hell.......lets top speed it........it took FOREVER to get to over 100mph, and had to go to WOT to get there.

.....oh well.

in edit...........it just REALLY sucks having a "sports" car that is slower than your TRUCK, and no matter what you do to the damn thing, it doesn't respond.

Drove it all day yesterday, and all day today to the tune of 300 miles........I am driving my truck tomorrow....

18 second camaro......grrrrrr!! Factory DOGG I guess?????

Wonder if I could beat a ol' 3rd gen 4 cyl???? lol

Just thinking out loud here........we are less than 20 miles apart from each other (w.l.a./santa monica area)

Maybe we could meet up for lunch or something......and see what the live opinion of another 3.4 owner is????

NHRA corrected number are 17.3 & 76.9 mph

When you calculated HP from mph and et with appox 10% drivetrain loss (should be virtually none with the TC locked)......its making 127 hp at the crank....and 114 at the rears. With 20% loss, its 143 hp at the crank.

Calculating it from the 1/8 mile mph, its 122hp at the crank with 110 at the rears with 10% loss.

WHERE IS MY 40 HP AT THE CRANK????

......who stole my horses

(I know it had to be Tiago that did it... )

here are some links if you guys want to calculate stuff for your own cars.......
