I think it has just a CD player and not a CD changer. I see the CD player in the dash, but the f-bodies that came with CD changers had a tape player at the dash and the changer is in the hatch. So unless he added a CD changer...

That's something minor, but are you sure you want to settle for a car without leather and to drive 500 miles for it too? The car for you is out there, don't hurry to buy something similar.

I'll have to ask him about the cd changer. I dont mind it doesnt have leather. When I first started looking for a car, leather wasnt HUGE... It'd be nice, but I dont think I'll ever find one in my price range and in 5 speed... I have only found one auto...
Can someone run this vin for me?

Is 2000 an ok year? I am thinking about taking a look at this one.
Red 5 speed It has 50,000 miles, t tops and its manual, like what Im looking for. A few questions I have, how are the 2000's? What gear is in the manual? How hard and how much does it cost to change out the exhaust? (Is there such thing as getting a single muffler with dual out tips?) Any known problems with the 2000 3.8's? Anything I should look for before buying it? Can someone please run the vin for me?

Thanks, Shane

The only diifference I can think of between 98 and 02 on the V6s is the gas tank. 98 was a steel 15.5(or something close) and 99+ are 16.5(again something close) and made of plastic. Duel outlet mufflers are very common.

thanks 99blackss. I do have two more questions. The back picture of the car, two things. One it says trans am, and not firebird, did he put that one there? Why would anyone do that? And 2nd, can I get any kind of a body kit/ ground effect for the rear of the body so the exhaust tips (if I got dual) looked better than they do? like this that was my 94 trans am with a single muffler but dual out tips... Thats what I want the firebird to look like, is there such a body kit I'd need in the back, or is that not an option?
thanks, Shane

the body kit your talking about is called the W68 package.

It included the Gfx around the car and the TA style exhaust with dual outlets. (the car your looking at doesent have that)

the only other package is the y87 which includes the performance package.

Good luck, I had a hell of a time finding a V6 camaro with (in 02 10,000 or less) (currently has 32K) but finding T tops and alloy wheels was a must have along with power windows and the other things like that.

V6 with a manual is rare, most of the time it's on a hard top with minimal options, I dont know what your chances are of finding the luxuaries like Leather and the basic option of a manual with T tops.

You could get a after market ground effects kit, but then you would have to deal with getting it painted. You'd be better off getting the W68 package.

The rear end on that firebird probably says Trans Am to make people think its a Trans Am. It looks like that part is its own piece and was put in by himself.

thanks for the info on the ground effects and the w68 package. It doesnt look like it has that, or the y87 package. It still looks like a nice clean car. It is 5 speed, its red and has t tops, thats all I really wanted. The different packages, and leather were all just extra... I tried calling the guy yesterday, and i couldnt get through, I just wanted to ask him about the cd changer, and if I put a deposit down, if he was willing to meet me half way.
can anyonyone run that vin for me please?
anything else on the car I should look out for when I go and look at it, i'd appreciate it, thanks Shane

I spoke with the owner of the car today. Good news, he may be able to meet me half way. That will help a lot.
