Injectors on a 3.4 V6

Hi guys,

quick question: the stock injectors on a stock 3.4 V6 are 17lb/hr. Will there be negative effects by ugrading to 19lb/hr injectors?

please, let me know...

thanks,
joe

I think I asked a similar question once here or on another board, and only a few people answered saying that you'd burn more fuel. Not sure though, might wanna wait for some more people to answer before doing anything. But it makes sense.

EDIT: Now I'm remebering, they told me the only gain from upgrading would be if my current injectors were clogged and had to be replaced. They never said anything about negative effects though.

You can make little changes like that and be ok. Your computer will likely do a decent job adjusting for the extra fuel. A while back I put injectors in my car that were 2lb/hr over stock (with the stock tune), and with the scanner, i could see the adjustments being made in the LT fuel trims.

Cool. I was thinking along those lines myself. I figured the PCM would adjust and make the necessary changes. The whole reason I am wanting to change the injectors is because I think I might be having some fuel delivery problems.

You see, this engine has been installed in a 1972 Triumph TR6. I bought the engine from a local junk yard and I think the engine sat for some time. I had the injectors cleaned, but still it did not run properly. All the other sensors have been replaced and so forth. Since I did not pay much for the engine, I figured I could splurge and get decent injectors.

I've been thinking of a 19lb set from Accel. Thanks for the info.

If anyone else has any more info on this, I would appreciate it...
