I think I added too much oil

Feel like a tart.
I changed my oil today like I do every 3,000 miles, and of course replaced it was Mobile 1. I buy it from Wall Mart in the big 5 quart containers-so it's kinda hard to judge how much is left in the container.
And I know our cars only hold 4.5 quarts.

It's some above the full check mark on the dip stick now, I didnt add it all, but I guess some is always in the botom of the pan.

Should I try to drain some-(that could be messy) or am I ok?

Like a 'tard or a tart? I always thought tarts were like hot little tease girls.

You're fine. A little extra oil won't hurt any. There have been debates but just check your dipstick tommarow or after driving for a while and check for bubbles. No bubbles = OK.

If you're paranoid about it, you can just grab the PF52 I think it is...the oversized filter for our cars. During the summer months I switch to the bigger filter and run the whole 5 quart jug of Mobil 1.

Besides, you think when most people get their oil changes done by the "oil experts" at oil change shops, they stop at exactly 4.5 quarts?

Don't worry about it...

It was parked in our garage the last two days so before I went out today I checked it and it was still above the full line, by quite a bit too.

I'm thinking that tomorrow I'm going to take off the filter and drain some, Hopefuly I wont make a mess, but I'll feel better.
