$280 isn't much...and by tommarow?

Basics are intake and exhaust. You might have a hard time finding an intake (not just the filter) locally but you could do your exhaust. They work better together but with $280, that won't happen.

Maybe the best thing you can do is practice your launch...

I wish we had a spell check feature...

How are your tires? Maybe the best, quickest way to get better times is replacing older, skinnier, dry-rotted tires. I could burn tires all day when the Maro was on older 235 Goodyears. Once the 18's with new 255's were on there, I can barely chirp when power braking to 2500rpm.

Learn to drive! Practice practice practice! Perfect your reaction time, as well as what RPM to launch at.

If you are really hell-bent, disconnect the catback. You could even disconnect the surpentine belt, but that is something you don't want to do for long, and still isn't great on the car. If you do go without the belt, only do it for a 1/4 race, then stop and replace it. And be sure to have the engine as cold as possible. Ice if you really want to. If you go this far and can drive damn near perfect, I'd bet on you cutting low 15's.

For some reason I don't think that will help him win two days ago.

flowmasters don't flow as well as other brands, ie: hooker, borla, gmmg, etc. you might feel alittle difference w/ it but not much. i had mine put on and didnt' feel much difference, course i had cut the cat off and was running glasspacks before i got flows. they sound good for the money and are freakin loud, specially on a car w/out cats .

$260 for a Flowmaster? I hope that is for the muffler, I-pipe and installation. The muffler alone should cost no more than $100.

Do a search about exhaust...it's been beaten into the ground enough here.

flowmaster sounds cool but doesnt really flow that well. go with magnaflow or hooker catbacks. they are about the same price and flow WAY better.

not sure, Mac and BBK are pretty decent if they do make a header for your engine.
