If nothing is wrong with you transmission i dont beleive it worth it, to much hassle, ant alot of money, not enough gain. better of selling car and buying an m6. IMO!

We can't tell you if you SHOULD or SHOULDN'T or if it is worth it or not. It might be worth it for me and not for you.

What are your goals for your car...or do you even have one yet? So far all I can gather from your posts is you are naming off common modifications and asking for estimates on performance gains and price.

Narrow it down...planning on intake, exhaust, 20 HP chip, headers, transmission conversion as well as internal work. Those are some big plans for someone who doesn't seem to know which path to take. Most people would upgrade the suspension on a 10 yr old car before doing the other work (God I hope I didn't just spark 10 other topics).

For all that $$$, you are better off getting a used 93-97 LT1. That route would be cheaper in terms of power per $$$.

Before you ask if THAT would be worth it, can't answer that for you. That's something you'll have to figure out on your own. I will say it again though, learn the basics first.

Put a stall in it and you'll stop wanting a manual!

I wouldn't take it on unless you really wanted to do it. When I rebuilt my car I used the interior wiring harness from an automatic car in my manual and had to make a lot of changes in it. I would sooner buy a used z28 6spd than go through the money and trouble of converting my car to automatic. But if you really want to do it, it can be done.

every thread you create is the same

I think you should accept the fact that you drive a 3.4 V6 automatic camro with over 100K miles
-its a nice car, but it is what it is.....I know i had a 98

even if you dump ALOT of money in that car it will still get beat by STOCK Z/28's

Uhm, see, thats where you're wrong.. I'm not defending this kid as much as I am defending V6 cars. You completely underrate them..

Your only going to get personal satisfaction out of swapping an M5 in. Value of our cars, it would be more cost effective to swap it for a different car that has it in already. cost wise, the swap will probalbly run you around 2 grand to pay someone else to do it.... if you can find some one to do it.... and thats an at least number. A custom tune getting rid of some of the torque management and increasing the line pressure made mine A LOT more fun to drive. Add a higher stall torque converter will make it even better.

I was thinking I was going to limit the modding on my 6 and buy a T/A for a second car and go all out, but I feel pretty comfortable hitting the 350ish+RWHP range with the turbo kits, tuning and cams now out for our cars. Your going to be sinking some money in a v8 to get above 400, at least new heads and real aggressive cam or a power adder. Sure there are a lot of 5,6 and 700 RWHP v8's that you will never match no-matter what you do to a 3.8, but those are pretty extreme cars and way more than what I care to have on the road.... or pay to achieve. A fully modded 3.8 will be plenty for me. It just seems like the people that have the biggest problem with that is those whove upgraded to a Z or T/A and only do mild stuff to them if anything and dont push the huge numbers.

Dude, stock 1st gen F-Bodies are slow - but you dont see 1st gen owners dumping em off and saying "god this things slow!" -- Not everyone can afford a factory hot rod - thats why we start where we do and build up to what we want.

Yep, and 3.4's now have a turbo kit that puts them over 300rwhp. Hardly what I'd call slow!

..............not a 302 Z/28

I know what your saying, but for the same price an LT1 car or even a 3rd gen w/ a 350 is atainable- and a much beter platform for a build up IMO

This is exactly the reason that you should be ignored. Looking at your other threads, which are all about the same as this one, I have come to the conclusion that you are a friggen idiot. When you get a 100+ hp gain from your car with the amount of money that you have mentioned in your other threads, let me know. I can't believe that the people on this board have humored you for this long, answering your meaningless questions, when you don't even seem to take the advise you are given. I will say it agian, even though I might stand alone in my oppinion, YOU ARE A FRIGGEN IDIOT!!!
