How many miles on your V6?

I just bought a 96 Camaro V6 with 82,000 miles that seems to be in very good shape. Just wondering how long these motors last? How many miles have people put on without any major problems?

I've got a 99' with 65,000 with no "major" problems. Unless you call 4 sets of plug wires and a new exhaust system after 400 miles a major problem...everything was covered under warranty. Thank goodness. Sounds like a reasonable amount of miles..

my 98 has 45700, no leaks, ive used Valvoline Synpower 10w-30 since 19k(when i got it), had ot change battery, alternator, and the right headlight gear has stripped out twice, i just put a brass gear though so it should be good for a really long time now...

Talking

'97 RS with 106433 miles. Wife drove it back and forth to work for about 100000 (from the Illinois side of the Mississippi to the west side of St. Louis). Plugs went out @ 100000 and the rear seal is starting to leak (my fault - opps). Never had a bit of problem with her 'til then. Now she's (the car) going to be converted, from a daily to a street machine.

my 94 3.4L has 123,000 broke some stuff mainly drivetrain compnents mainly due to my "agressive drivng"

maybe 8 autocrosses, one road course, and roughly 50-60 passes at the dragstrip this year.

my dads 2000 has 26,000, on the clock, the clutch system went south after 7,000 miles(course... the night before I did take ti to the drag strip and had been pretty rough on the car all week...)

but of course my dad doesn't know about that...

Got you beat!!! My Firebird just rolled over 71K.

New front pads and rotors, battery and alternator are the only things it has ever needed.

So, if you are looking for a very reliable V6 F-body, let me know. Mine is for sale!

85k on the bird

nothing major ever happened, unless I caused it, like with a little nitrous loosing a few pistons, but otherwise, just an alternator, nothing else....
