How do you change the %!&*# fog light bulb??

Once upon a time, my fog light bulb was out. I tried to replace it myself and to make a long story short, 2 repair guys and an AutoZone cashier later, I wound up at the dealership, where they told me it'd be like an hour's worth of labor, just to replace the bulb. (I think an hour was their minimum fee)

So I was torqued, and I was going to wait until I was getting something else fixed or maintained and try to lump that lightbulb change in with it.

But then, I got in a minor accident and the whole front exterior of my car was replaced. Including the fog lights! So I thought I was golden.

But now, 2 years later, the %!@&# fog light is out again!

Now, I'm perfectly capable of changing the headlight bulbs. Would someone tell me the magic secret to changing the fog light bulbs? Is it really as difficult as the guy at the dealership made it out to be?

Perhaps it's too complicated to describe in writing. Which would explain it's lack of mention in the owner's manual.

Thanks!

Funny, I go in to get 3.42/Posi installed, and the guy I had work on it gave me the driver-side-fog-light-delete mod????

It's not hard I just haven't looked at it. I'll change mine out today and take pictures for you. E-mail me or catch me on AIM.

its a pain because you have to take the bottom cover off.....reach up between another guard grab the harness and socket assemblie. Its not that hard to get it out....just twist and pull.....but putting it back is a PAIN. You can't see what you are doing and those guards keep squeezing youre arm. Its a pain the only problem is trying to get the little thing back in when you can't see where youre arm is. ITs not necessarily hard.....just a pain because you can't see what you are doing.

Thank You!

Thanks, chesee48

What a great website. It's so nice of that guy to do that.

I will try that. Hopefully I can manage by myself. Paying $85 to have the dealership change the bulb is BS!

Thanks again.

we just took off the fog llights so we could paint a friends grill. it took him no more than 10 minutes to take the fixture and the bulb out. i did my 2000 foglight in about 10 minutes also.
