Exclamation How Do I SUPERCHARGE?

I want to supercharge my '97 Camaro V6, I was thinking of buying the RKSport Supercharger, that is the only one I can find out there. Are there any more superchargers for my car, is so, who sells them.

Also, what do I need to supercharge my engine, I think I need new headers, pistons, and piston rings, and an aftermarket exhaust to let more air flow out. What exactly do I need to supercharge my engine, all responses are greatly appreciated. Thanks

You shouldn't have to do anything to your engine if you buy the RK sport kit(6 pounds of boost), unless you car's engine isn't running correctly. If you have the 3.8 liter it can handle up to 9 pounds of boost without modifcation. It's when you start goinbg closer to that 9 pound line is when you would need start with an engine rebuild. Also check out another BB: www.firebirdv6.com

They have a section dedicated to forced induction. And the BB is strictly for v6 f-bodies.

Thanks, that helped out alot, I guess I would just be running 6psi without the intercooler if I buy the RKSport supercharger. But Vector Performance, the one who created the supercharger RKsport sells, went out of business, is it safe to buy it still?

Also, are there any aftermarket intercoolers available for the 3.8 Camaro?

Thanks for your reply's

depends on tuning, fuel system, ignition, intercooling, type of fuel run, etc.

For other options on forced induction...check out this site.

www.projectvirus.com

I have a Vector/Powerdyne unit sitting waiting to be installed as well. The only thing is, I understand that a stock engine can withstand 9lbs of boost with no problems, but I'm upgrading my internals before hand just to be safe. Also upgrading the valve train as well. As for "turbo".....Tiago is the man!! Talk to him...

Ask in the LT1 tech section. Probably somewhere around 6-8psi on a stock engine.
