Help with tires sizes?

Whats the largest size tire I can fit on my V6 1996 Camaro without rubbing? I know those LS1 and LT1 boys cna fit 295 in rear and 275 in front, can we do the same without rubbing? And if I can't, can I just swap a SS or Z28 axle with mine? THanks!

my 275's rub a little when you turn the wheel all the way. Just enough to see a little area on the inner fender well. Not the actual fender. The plastic lining. 295's on the front?!! WOW!!

i dont really see the need for 275 or highers on the front. however i know that 275 will fit and 315 in the back will fit, with the proper back spacing.

New question. Say I want to have 295's in the rear and 265's or 255's in the fronts, how owuld I do that? I want the 295's to be 18" and the 265 or 255 to be 17". What would my ratio be for that 18"? 295/35/18? and that 265 or 255? 265/45/17? 255/50/17?

first number- width of tire
second number- the size of the side wall
third number- rim size

in my own opinion i think the 255/45/17 are the fitting tire for the f body. with 18's in the rear and 17's up front, i believe that the extra side wall space in the front woulndt be noticable because of the extra rim diameter.

Camarokid, i'm not asking what the sizes mean, i know what they are, but I wanted to make sure my sizes were correct. Different cars have different proportions for each number, and they should be kept in proportion. Thanks for the hlep anways.

I think you should go 275/40/17s and 295/35/18s
