Unhappy help SES light on Code wont clear

I have a 96 3.8 auto, the SES light has been on since i've owned the car, about 5 months, the code is P1860 which comes up on the scanner as the converter, the tranny crapped out 2 weeks ago so i got a new one and swapped them out, but the light is stilll on, and will not clear, only thing left that i can think of would be something with the PCM, anyone ever have this problem or have any suggestions? please help me

thanks
Steve

you could have a bad tranny controle moduel. I'm not a expert or really up todate on 96 f-bodies but arn't the trannys controled completely by a computer? I'd have that looked up first. And when you put in the new tranny did you swap in a new torque converter or did you reuse the old one?

Yea, the PCM is the powertrain control module which from what i understand controls all that stuff, which is what i think is the problem, but i did use a new torque converter too.

I say take it to a dealership and have it checked out and it its ok see if there are any updates for the computer that can be downloaded and see if that fixes the problem.
