Angry HELP! Feels like i'm gonna stall!

hey guys, i have a little problem with my 95 3.4 camaro.. I just had a jasper engine put in 9k miles ago and the car ran great.. then the past few months my cars been running like crap.. (running rich, idle will jump from 1k rpms to 500 then back to normal when at a stop). My mechanic told me awhile ago that my cat was shot so i thought maybe that was the problem.. so i installed a catco high flow converter as well as a new 'vortex' muffler.. that didn't help..

so a few days after the new exhaust i get a SES light.. bring it to my mechanic and he said the 3rd solenoid on my EGR valve was sticking open and that was the problem.. so me and my dad put on the new EGR yesterday and my car is still having the same problems! (dont think its running as rich as before but still a little, and still have the feeling like my cars goin to stall when i am stopped..) Anybody have any ideas?? Maybe it's the idle speed controller? idk what it is n its gettin me pissed offfff. I know my spark plugs are probably all fouled up because ive been running rich for awhile but I don't think thats the problem cuz theyre only 9k miles old.. help meeee, heh thanks guys

Re: HELP! Feels like i'm gonna stall!

i dont think its bad gas..i bring all 5 of our cars to the same place and never had a problem.. it does it when i am stopping or stopped.. a few times i've noticed when keeping my foot steady on the accelerator the rpms would jump from 2k to 2500 kinda weird (no the car wasnt shifting either)... im thinkin maybe run a bottle of that fuel injector cleaner threw my system and see whats up..

i dont know about the tune up, computer idk

Where are you at in New Jersey. If your guy is in the hospital, then you should wait for him, if you are in South Jersey (Greater Atlantic area) I know a good mechanic around there.

Re: HELP! Feels like i'm gonna stall!

i had a 3.1 lumina that did the same thing...but it would actually end up stalling out. part of my wire harness burned up and messed up the ignition. probably not a frequent problem but i thought i would throw it out there. smell any electrical fires?

Re: HELP! Feels like i'm gonna stall!

Have it scanned if the SES light is still on (althought it can still throw a code with the light off). Match the code to the problem associated with it in the manual and start your diagnosis from there.

Re: HELP! Feels like i'm gonna stall!

i brought it to autozone on monday because the SES light came on sunday night but they couldn't read the code for some reason.. i was reading in my hayned that if my car has the 12 pin connector it's OBD2 and if it has the 10 pin connector it is OBD1.. I have the 12 pin connector and autozone can't seem to get it to read anything.. I did just recently put in a direct fit catco convertor and a new muffler but the car has been stumbling before i did it..

Re: HELP! Feels like i'm gonna stall!

if you have a warrenty on the engine, your mechanic cant 'refuse' to touch it. get it fixed via the warrenty.
