hi i have a 93 camaro with a v6 3.4 automatic and i would like to put in a carburated chevy small block into it. I was wondering if anyone had any input. And if there is any websites that have the parts i need (motor mounts, exhaust, etc) or can give me ideas on what to do or what is needed. Thanks for all your help.

 

you are going to have trouble getting the air cleaner to fit, but its been done before, do some searchin on the ole internet its out there.. not too comon of a swap though

List of parts required are as follows.

1. The carberated small block chevy. Im guessing you don't have one yet So.....atleast 2000 for a decent running one.

2. Z-28 crossmember to facilitate the motor mounts. 250~350

3. Jesel, or MSD "crab" style distributor to mount to the front of the new engine block. (due to the low cowl in these cars.) 400 last time I checked

4. New Transmission depending on what you want. 400~3500

5. All of the Little things that your gonna have to modify, or replace to get the damned thing to fit AND run. God knows how much.


I'm not trying to discourage you from attempting it, but for the price involved you could buy a VERY good running 4th gen Z for less. This topic has been brought up ALOT on here. There have been examples done on here. but they were spcifically for drag racing. Keep in mind that if Monster Garage can take an Peterbuilt Semi and turn it in to a Trike. Some one can do this.
