Has anyone tried?

Has anyone tried the Turbonator (turbonator.com)? If so is this reliable and ok to use for bolt up power for a Camaro?

Re: Has anyone tried?

no its a waste of money.

so is the tornado, whip it style nitrous kits, IAT tricker mods on ebay and all the other too good to be true mods.

best mods for a v6... (and most cars)

Routine maintenance(make sure everything is working 100%)
intake
exhaust
LSD
gears
Suspension.

On a budget...
Intake, go to home depot make a homemade smooth bellows, descreen the maf, then shave the fins off of your lid.

Exhaust, get a cutout and get it installed just before the rear axle

LSD/Gears, get a used rear off of a v8 car and swap it in.

Suspension, to be cheap just throw on a set of z28 sway bars, nice upgade that is dirt cheap.

you can do all of the above for like $400-500, might be different if you have to reporgram the PCM for the gear swap.

Re: Has anyone tried?

I'm not familiar with suspension, installing z/28 swaybars would do what exactly? Sorry, I don't know sway bars from bushings.

Re: Has anyone tried?

All you need is a

1/2 deep socket.
13mm deep socket
13mm flat wrench

Pretty easy swap. I got my sway bars for $20 local.

stock on a 2k are 28mm and 15mm rear.
stock z28 is 30mm/19mm.

makes the car handle better, It helps keep the car "flatter" in corners, but you will notice a teeny little bit more of oversteer with the setup.

Re: Has anyone tried?

cool, I don't mind a tad oversteer on a car that has understeer.

Re: Has anyone tried?

i would rather have the sway bars off of a 1le...

1LE:
32mm front / 21mm rear.

Z28:
30mm front / 19mm rear.

Re: Has anyone tried?

Well I'd take either as an upgrade, but I will get a 1LE before a Z28 swaybar if I can find one, thanks.

Re: Has anyone tried?

Well I have a GM Rebuild kit sitting here (info packet).

from the factory every 3.4L V6 / Z28 made in 1994 got a 30mm front sway bar, and every 3.4 got a 17mm rear. the z28 got a 19mm rear. the 1LE got a 21mm rear.

the 95's are probably the same (3.4). the Z28 got 30mm/19mm and the 1LE got 30mm/21mm (interesting..thot it was 32...maybe 32 is a later year)
