goin from 3.4 to 3.8

This is what i want to do. I know i can pick up the 3800 pretty cheap. My 3.4 has 150k on it and runs great. But its not very quick and i would like to get the newer 3800's. Will any 3800 hook up to my 4l60e? Like from the grand prix and can i supercharge the camaro 3800 with the superchargers from the grand prix's? And does any know anyone with the 3800 for sale?
thanks
zach

even if you find a decent 3800, it won't be cost effective to put it in. the 3800 isn't THAT much stronger than the 3.4, stock for stock. it does get better gas milage though.

you won't be able to use the SC 3800s from the FWD cars. it won't fit right. the SC makes sure of that.

if you want to SC a stock 3800 it will cost you $$$ on top of the already expensive swap. figure 3k-5k just for the SC.

the tranny itself is the same one used on all cars, but the bellhousing is different for the verious engines. since the bellhousing alone(new) will probably cost you litle less than a good condition (used) tranny + bellhousing for that engine, why bother?

discouraged yet? if you're doing this for fun, and you have cash to burn, go for it. otherwise its cheaper (if you count the SC) to swap in a stock LT1. or cheaper yet, sell your car and get one with a V8 already in it if power is what you're after.

a 3.8 will bolt to a 3.4's tranny, but I think the 3.8 has a different engine x-member
