Talking general questions...

wuts up guys...i'm just on here goin through the message boards and posting trying to expand my knowledge...so i wanna know wut the 0-60 time on a stock camaro RS manual 2000 is...also wut technically does torque do for a car, and is it more important than horsepower in acceleration? aslo is the compressoin ratio on a 2000 camaro RS too high to safely put on a turbo kit?
thanx

0-60 I believe is around 7.5 seconds (havn't been to a track yet). Torque is very important in 1/4 racing, its what gets your @$$ moving off the line. That's why pre 99 mustangs are that much faster than us in the quater, they only have 215-225 horses, but they have close to 300 ft-lbs of torque.

I know a guy who has a 95 mustang...and he doesn't have close to either of those measures. His hp and torque are both below 200, easily. I took him out with my old FWD 98 Grand Am Se with ease.

LOL,he's talking about V8 Mustangs. The V6 guys trash them a lot when the V6 is modded and the V8 is stock.I think I could out-run a V6 Mustang on my feet!

RS... I posted this link in one of your other threads... maybe it can help explain HP and torque...

www.vettenet.org/torquehp.html

(hope the site is still there)

As for the turbo, I believe your running a 3800 (3.8L)? The stock compression ratio is 9 to 1. (ya' all correct me if I'm wrong!) I know you can safely run a supercharger developing 6 to 9 psi of boost at that ratio.
