General Info

What does the stock 3.8 Run? Auto and Stick?

What are the most common mods you guys are doing?

Anyone do headers and if so how much was it and what did you notice?

Nitrous, Anyone?

Cold Air kits? What does everyone have?

I am looking into a new camaro.. I currently have a thirdgen 2.8 runing 15.93. I know that is good but go to my site and you willsee what is done:

geocities.com/overlift

I am tired of the little problems and am looking for something newer and more comfortable.. I was looking at 1994 Z's, but I want to get 1996 or newer and the 3.8 falls in the price range. I am not looking for speed just a car with options so I can toss a few things on for the fun of the hobby.

I pulled a 15.875@ somethign in my dads stock 2000 Camaro with a 5-speed.

i spun the launch, nad had a crappy 60', and do not really know the shift point since i had only driven the car a day, I might have been able to squeeze a 15.7, if I drove it right.

and auto, with 3.08s very common, is maybe high 15s but most likely a low 16. Put in 3.42s, or get a car that is equiped form the factory with 3.42s, and you are looking at mid 15s maybe lower 15s.

hey where in orlando are you located?

I am in the UCF area.

btw most common mods are gears, CAI and exhasut. Guys are starting to get into internals like cams and heads.

Some people have gotten into GTP internals, and adding boost to the 3.8L.

Fpor some local orlando people there was a kid named joe Palermo i think he was from merrit islando ran a 14 flat with a supercharged 3.8L, but had electronic speed limiter problems with his 3.73s also shane runs mid 13s locally in a 96 3.8L, on the laughing gas, he is prepping his car currently to get going that fast n/a, then get hit laughing gas.

On University and Dean is where I am at... Head towards Aloma.. I have just seen at places like car max loaded 3.8s'.. T-Tops everything for under 10K with like like 48,50,000 miles... I would go stick, my tuck was stick and it was fun, plus it would be a little more sporty...

What have you run at the speed world? I figure if I get it I would get:

K&N FIPK, Cat back, Headers and go from there.
