okay i'm mixed up. i searched a couple of posts and people keep saying that GU6 is the code for 3.42's and GU8 is 3.42 too. which is the right one? im asking cause i got to looking at my car and saw that it is GU6. but the thing is supposedly my car is a stripper. you know the kind, no power locks, windows, seats. just real basic. but the thing that throws me off is that people talk about the Y87 package. my car has ASR, supposedly 3.42 gears and the wider tires, 235's i think. come someone clear this up? or do i just have a freaky car?

Some 3.8's got the Y87 options without actually having Y87.

 

man and i was about to buy those gears. i did not feel a difference between mine and my friends 98. i dont think his has 3.42's since it was only an option back then. or difference between the stock and 3.42's is not that big a difference?
