Wow I had that problem a few months ago with a 1995 Camaro, I went and bought me a new gas cap and that fixed the problem on my car, the old stock one was trashed and didnt have a seal around it, now this may or may not do the same for yours but it makes sense that it would be the cap since you only smell it when you refuel the car ..........good luck
I too often get a gassy smell from my 96 when pretty full. I would also like some more input in the gas smell area.
Banshee - what kind of 1/4 time improvements have your suspension upgrades gotten you?

camarogeek.............as of yet I havent done any racing with my car, I want to have all of my mods completed by spring before the local track ( Joliet Speedway ) opens up, then i'll be able to see what my money has bought me............hope you guys figure out that gas smell in your cars, changing the cap worked in mine...its worth a try anyways and wont break the bank doing it
If you guys are talking about smelling gas when you refuel...that is normal.
I would only be concerned if your gas cap doesn't seal correctly or if you notice gas spilling.
Otherwise, you're just worrying about nothing.

sounds like evap canister line leak. This causes you to smell gas now and a again sometimes stronger depedning on how much gas you have and how long, far you drive. Behind your driver side rear wheel, check all the connections to the evap canister. Make sure to check them good, just eyeing them up you may not see a crack in them, if you touch them and you get black all over you hands, its a pretty good bet you should replace the lines. Rubber hose is cheap anyway. The real question is why dont they use something back there that gas wont rot out over time.
