Firebird V6 Cat converter delete

I have a Firebird with a V6 and a cat back flowmaster exhaust system and headers. I wish to delete the cat and replace it with a straight pipe. Anyone know if i will need O2 sims or not? Any info is appreciated.

I don't think so... the 02s are on the exhaust manifolds on my 94.

What year is your car? The easy way to know is to look and see if you have a post-cat 02 sensor. If you do, then you will need a 02 sim. to avoid the SES light.

I'm pretty sure then you have a post-cat 02 sensor. In that case, either run the 02 sim. or have the rear o2 code deleted out of the PCM via tuning.

for a 96 you WILL need a simm or programing to prevent the code.

yeah he'll need a sim, but you wont see a large hp gain without deleting cot fueling at a minimum.
